Single Malt Whisky

Scotch Whisky Regions

Single malt Scotch whisky is the product of a single Scottish distillery made using malted barley, yeast and water. Scotch must be matured in oak casks in Scotland, the European oak or American oak can make a huge contribution to the flavour profile of the finished whisky. Each distilling region is perceived to have it's own style, character and culture. Islay is famous for its smoky whiskies, the Highlands & Islands for fuller bodied waxy malts, Speyside for lighter fruity Scotch and Campbeltown for a silky smokey character.
