- Glenglassaugh Octaves Classic
Glenglassaugh Octaves Classic Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in 45 litres casks, affording the whisky more contact with the wood, and hence a very intense maturation. Limited release of 2,431 bottles.
Nose: An abundance of sweet shop characteristics. Sherbet and candy apples with a gentle warmth of white pepper and cinnamon.
Palate: A vibrant green apple skin note balances with stewed yellow plums and hints of black vanilla pod. Clean, freshly sawn oak softens to crisp, sweet barley in the long finish.
Finish: A delicious combination of citrus and sweet complimenting the unique oak characters which develop in Octave cask maturation.
Glenglassaugh Single Malt Whisky
Glenglassaugh Distillery is a Highland malt whisky distillery situated at Sandend Bay near Portsoy on the Banffshire coast with views north over the Moray Firth and the North Sea and is one of just a very few truly coastal Highland malt whisky distilleries. Glenglassaugh Distillery was established by James Moir and opened in 1875. This distillery was substantially re-built in 1959 and re-opened in 1960 only to close in 1986. However, Glenglassaugh was back in production in December 2008 and is now owned by Brown Forman of America.
