- Glenglassaugh 35 Year Old The Chosen Few 1st Release
The first of a new range of distillery single cask releases, each bottling chosen by a different member of the Glenglassaugh distillery team. This cask was chosen by Ronnie Routledge and is a fine example of Glenglassaugh aged in a sherry butt.
Limited release of 654 botles. Bottled at the distillery at cask strength, without the use of chill filtration and with no caramel added.
Nose: A nose packed with sweet barley sugar, peaches, pineapple and plums - giving way to millk chocolate, Brazil buts, Oloroso sherry and toasty oak-spice.
Palate: Soft and juicy, bursting with pineapple and mango fruit puree. Ample sherry, cocoa beans and toasted rich oak notes.
Finish: Drying with gentle toasted oak, coconut and sherry.
Glenglassaugh Single Malt Whisky
Glenglassaugh Distillery is a Highland malt whisky distillery situated at Sandend Bay near Portsoy on the Banffshire coast with views north over the Moray Firth and the North Sea and is one of just a very few truly coastal Highland malt whisky distilleries. Glenglassaugh Distillery was established by James Moir and opened in 1875. This distillery was substantially re-built in 1959 and re-opened in 1960 only to close in 1986. However, Glenglassaugh was back in production in December 2008 and is now owned by Brown Forman of America.
