Following a successful inaugural release back in August, The Alistair Walker Whisky Co. is back with a second release of lovely single cask whiskies.
To find out a little more on Alistiar Walker and his new independent whisky company, check out our Q&A blog here. Carry on reading to find out the gems in this new batch release. Winging its way to you in plenty time for Christmas!
Lead by A Lovely Linkwood
There is no doubting the leading cask in this lineup. Stands out a mile with the lovely deep sherried colour. Almost port colouring. Aged 9 years, this 2010 vintage, single cask hogshead #306427 is bottled at a BIG 59.6%. Limited to just 275 bottles.
Orkney Single Malt – Yes, Probably From There
The second big dram here is from Orkney. There is no hint as to which distillery but we can be confident it’s not Scapa. Though Alistair does have some canny connections in the industry we suspect he’s not broken that distillery door down yet. Aged 20 years this 199 vintage of 303 bottles from a single hogshead #A324-4 yielding 303 bottles.
More Gems Alongside
And by no means any lesser drams, we have some other crackers here too:
- Macduff 11 Year Old 2007
- Craigellachie 11 Year Old 2007
- Auchroisk 13 Year Old 2006
- Glen Elgin 13 Year Old 2006
- Port Dundas 24 Year Old 1995
These are all perfect whiskies for the connoisseur, offering a healthy single cask ABV and packed with complex flavours. For the novice whisky drinker they provide a chance to take a flight of lesser known distillery characters. And they make cracking gifts too!
