Aberlour 12 Year Old Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. Double cask maturation. Traditional oak and seasoned Sherry butts are both used to great effect, as the mellowed spirits within are combined to deliver a subtly balanced flavour.
Nose: Very soft and rounded with fruity notes of red apples. Palate: Sherried character and fruity aromas balanced with a rich chocolate, toffee, cinnamon and ginger spiciness. Finish: Warming and lingering. Sweet and very slightly spicy.
Aberlour Single Malt Whisky
Aberlour Distillery was founded in 1826 in the town of Aberlour in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. It sits on the northern edge of Ben Rinnes Mountain which accumulates snow and rainwater across its peaty moors and supplies cold, soft spring water to the distillery. Around a half of the spirit produced from Aberlour’s four copper stills is destined for single malts, including the popular Aberlour A’bunadh batched single malt whisky matured solely in ex-sherry casks. Aberlour offers distillery tours and the distillery is an established participant in the popular Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
